Description

  • Length of each handle: 3 1/2  inches
each decorated in iron-red, gilding and grisaille, the center with a lobed cartouche painted flowering plants, animals and figures, each set with a mid-18th century blade, 12 steel with Paris hallmarks, 12 vermeil by Louis Deletombe (1752-1753), Lille. Together with a replacement handle of similar date but different famille-rose decoration. 26 pieces.

Condition

The vase with expected wear and fading. As per catalogue description, one handle not matching. The other 23 all have some rubbing to gilding except 3 repaired the blade fits, 2 with a small chip,3 with fritting to end of handle and 5 with black fritting/ speckling where the blade is mounted
