one chair marked VII with matching slip seat; one marked II with slip seat marked VIII; one marked III, retaining a rich historic surface and lacking the proper front left leg side knee return; bearing a label inscribed Dining room chairs of James Henderson formerly in his house in Greenwich Village, suburb New York; lacking applied shells on front seat rails.

Condition

Wear commensurate with age and use. The top and bottom of the splat at the junction of the shoe of chair VII have been re-glued. The proper front left leg lacking the side knee return of chair III.
