an exceptional piece, carved in relief with a hunter with hunting dog taking shot at a double headed eagle, initialled LD, D. 17 1770; the reverse with an Indian with bow and arrow on horseback, stags running in the foreground, the sides with Frisian carving, the bottom signed LAUGHLIN DONNELLY around an incised heart, and the initials NV.
