carved in the round with paint over gessoed ground, open mouth and staring eyes.

Condition

Wear commensurate with age and use. Several layers of re-paint in the face where splits have occured (right of mouth). Repaint is good, recreating color in blush of cheeks, eye lashes, and stripes in cap. Tiny worm damage on the base would suggest English origin. With chips, losses and abrasions.
