worked overall in wool and silk chain stitches on a linen ground; the center with bands of alphabets above the inscription Nancy Forrest's sampler wrought in the fourteenth year of her age, 1811; the borders with hillocks, rose bush and meandering grapevines.

Descended in the family of Nancy Forrest, daughter of Dorothy (Worthen) and William Forrest II of Canterbury, New Hampshire.
