the rectangular top covered with yarn-stitched wool sprays of roses, the wool tape edge with a tatted wool ball fringe; on trestle base.
Condition
Wool binding tape is in good condition. Top has some minor losses and some of the wool tassel threads are broken or lost. Some of the wool thread covering of the balls is gone. Some wear and a shrinkage crack on the base.

A paper label on the bottom of the stool states: Cover for cricket stool by Aunt Binda who died in 1847. She spun and dyed the yarn to work it and also worked in the same pattern a hearth rug for which she took a...at the State Fair in Hartford and Several rug door mats which Mary gave to Mrs. Bagley of...Edith, 1910.
