Condition

Overall very good condition. The patinated bronze surfaces display a rich brown and green patina, with some occasional minor surface scratches, abrasions and rubbing consistent with age and gentle handling. The bronze with some oxidation throughout concentrated to the base and recessed contours of the design. The bracket supporting the favrile glass candle cup and the adjusting collar and knob all appear to be period, though are possibly associated (suggested by slight variations in patina). The favrile glass candle cup with some occasional minute air bubbles and particulate inclusions inherent in the making and not visually detractive, and with scattered fine surface scratches and small areas of wear consistent with age and gentle handling. A beautiful example of this very rare and highly dynamic sculptural candlestick design.
