Condition

Overall very good condition. The patinated bronze surfaces throughout retain a rich brown patina, showing some scattered minor surface scratches, light wear, and traces of oxidation consistent with age and gentle use. The inset favrile glass is beautifully mottled and presents with strong golden ochre and orange hues, which are slightly less red when viewed firsthand compared to the printed catalogue illustration. The glass with some light surface soiling concentrated to the contours adjacent to the pine needle overlay. The tile to the left of the photograph aperture with approximately 8 hairline cracks, only a few visible from the front, the others visible from the reverse when viewed with strong remitted light. These hairlines have been stabilized through the sensitive application of a clear epoxy to the tile on the reverse, which is barely perceivable and presents with a few areas of powdery surface texture. On the reverse, the left vertical tile with a remnant of a small old paper label. The reverse appears to retain the original easel stand. The clear glass face with scattered minute edge chips throughout, not visible once the glass is installed in the frame. The reverse with a few areas of minor discoloration, scattered surface scratches and areas of light rubbing to the patina. The opening measures 5 1/2 x 3 7/8 inches. A beautiful example of the model displaying a strong glass selection.
