Description

Château Cheval Blanc 1971 St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)u. 4bn, 4vts, scuffed and stained labels, 1 of which nicked, scuffed capsules, 1 slightly sunken cork, excellent color and clarityThe yield was very low at 18 hl/hectare. 12.4% alcohol. This was the first vintage for which Jacques Hébrard was wholly in charge. In 2016, at the very generous table of a Bordeaux host, it was stunning in magnum. Just the most amazing liquid, with spicy, exotic scents and a total come-hither attitude. Leather flavours and velvet texture. Luscious, glycerol-charged, fabulous wine and incredible with Bazas beef. Serena Sutcliffe, MW8 bts (sc)Estimates are per lot
