Condition

The canvas has been lined and stretched over a wooden panel. The work presents well overall and the surface is fresh, aside from a few very minor pinpoint white accretions in the background. Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. There are pinpoint dots of retouching to the mother's skirt, one dot underneath her proper left hand, and a diagonal area across her proper right eye. There are a few additional finely applied retouches in the background and at the left lower edge.
