Condition

This work is in original unlined condition. There is minor bumping in pulling in the upper right corner. There is a stable web of craquelure across the picture surface, most noticeably on and around the figure. There are small areas and spots of abrasion in the background at right and over the majority of the inscription below the signature; frame abrasion scattered along the edges; and pinpoint dots of discoloration on the figure's face. Under UV: old varnish fluoresces green unevenly. Retouching is visible under the figure's proper right eye, to the left of her proper left ear, and in a few scattered dots and pinpoint dots in the background. There is a diagonal area of retouching underneath the signature and inpainting to address prior frame abrasion scattered at the edges.
