Condition

Lined. The surface is clean and stable and the colors remain bright and fresh. There is one accretion on the chest of drawers at lower left and isolated areas of barely perceptible craquelure in the foreground that are consistent with age. There is very minor frame abrasion scattered along the edges. Under UV: old varnish has been selectively cleaned and the uncleaned areas fluoresce green. There is evidence of older retouching in these areas. There are newer retouches on the tea set and on and around the figures. There are some additional scattered dots and dashes of retouching in the background.
