Condition

This work is in original unlined condition. There is minor bumping and pulling of the canvas at upper left and frame abrasion along the upper and left edges. Stable, finely patterned craquelure is visible on the figure. Minor scratches with associated loss are visible on the figure's hair, under her proper right arm, and on the rock at upper right. There is a 1 1/2 inch diagonal line of pinpoint losses extending through the proper left side of the figure's torso. There are a few additional pinpoint dots of loss on the rock at lower center and in the bush at upper left. Under UV: the varnish fluoresces green unevenly. There are parallel diagonal lines of retouching on the rock at upper right; scattered retouchings along the left lower edge and at lower right; and strengthening underneath the figure's proper right pinky finger.
