Condition
The medium is oil on canvas. The canvas does not appear to be relined but has been restretched. There is some surface dirt. There is some cracquelure and pigment separation in the background. Some retouching can be discerned with the naked eye. Under UV: there is a varnish which fluoresces green. Not obscured by the varnish there are scattered lines, dashes and small areas of retouching scattered throughout the work, the largest being a horizontal line beginning at the left edge and extending, intermittently through the tallest figure's head. This line is visible without UV. The colors appear strong and the work has a good aspect overall: the work presents very well.
