Lined. Overall the surface is bright and fresh and the colors remain vibrant. Minor surface dirt and dust. There is a stable web of craquelure visible across the picture surface concurrent with age that is most visible in the lighter pigments. Under UV: there is a large, broadly painted circular area of retouching in the sky at upper left; and broad but smaller areas of retouching on the horizon line at far left, in the water at lower center, and on the horizon line in the town at right. There are additional pinpoint dots, dashes and small areas of retouching widely scattered in the sky, trees, and on the boat at lower left.
