Condition

To the naked eye: The painting appears in a favorable conservation status. It has an old relining performed correctly. The work reads well under an old varnish that appears to be dirty. There is a rectangular addition in the lower center (about 15 cm high and 30 cm wide). This piece was probably added during the relining. Under UV light: The painting appears under a thick uniform green varnish. There are some restorations in the sky on the upper left corner. Some retouches are in the leaves at the top right, and some in the drapery and the hair and under the hand of the Satyr. Scattered retouches on the sky above the nymphs on the right and on their bodies. The aforementioned restoration also fluoresces. The female body is well preserved. The painting would benefit from a cleaning.
