Condition

The canvas is lined. A lovely image reads well, with some of the details preserved in her sleeve and the tapestry. A few spots of discoloration are visible at the center of her neck. Inspection under UV shows some finely and evenly applied retouches scattered on her face, chin, and neck, as well as on the background. A more concentrated area of retouching is on the outline of her hand at bottom right, and a spot on the outline of the embroider. Further scattered and minor retouches are on the dress and red chair. What could possibly be an old repair in the shape of thick line that runs for about an inch fluoresces differently on the chair. The painting can be hung in its present state and is offered in an elaborately carved gilded frame.
