Canvas is lined. The painting presents a decorative image with the surface of the paint and details, especially on the flowers, well preserved. There are small spots of pigment loss at top edge near center. Minor frame abrasions are on edges. Inspection under UV show some scattered spots of retouches to the background, like for example at center left and bottom right quadrant. On the squirrel's tail there are few finely applied strokes of retouching, meanwhile further strokes are scattered on some of the leaves at right. The painting can hang in its present state. Offered in an elaborately carved gilded wood frame.
