Condition

The panel is comprised of two boards with a join that runs horizontally across the center. There are four battens stabilizing the join on the reverse. The join is visible to the naked eye on the front of the panel, with some slight separation at the extreme edges at right and left. Underneath a dirty varnish reads an inviting landscape scene that has preserved well its details. Four small spots of paint loss are barely visible on the bottom left edge. Some discoloration from former retouches are scattered on the sky and along the join. These are visible to the naked eye, though they may not fluoresce under UV. Further inspection under UV is impeded by a thick, milky varnish. There is a circular area that fluoresces differently in the lower right corner which is possibly an old cleaning test. It is offered in a plain, ebonized wood frame with some minor losses.
