Description

Centered on an oval-shaped cabochon tanzanite measuring approximately 19.1 x 15.3 mm within a double frame of rose-cut sapphires, the prongs, gallery and shoulders set with numerous round diamonds, the mounting with blackened rhodium finishing, size 7, signed R. Koven.

Condition

In overall good condition with minor scratching to the metal commensurate with wear. The interior of the shank stamped 18K. Carat weight approximation of the tanzanite cannot be obtained due to the closed back mounting preventing a depth measurement. The tanzanite presents a medium dark violetish blue color, heavily included with examples of internal fractures and surface-reaching inclusions. The accenting sapphires present a light violetish blue color, lightly to moderately included. The accenting diamonds weighing approximately 2.75 carats are of brownish hue, approximately VS-SI clarity. Bears a nice heft when worn.
