Description

  • Paul Flato
Composed of three rows of emerald-cut garnets, the clasp pavé-set with single-cut diamonds, length 7¾ inches, signed Paul Flato.

Condition

In good condition, with minor scratches to the mounting, not noticeable when worn; a few garnets are loose in their settings and would benefit from the attention of a jeweler. Evidence of solder to a number of links, resulting in a slight difference in tension between them, noticeable upon close inspection. Mounting tests as 14 karat gold. The garnets, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 225.00 carats, are deep slightly purplish red to red, eye clean to slightly included, many with light abrasions, and two bearing chips to the crown, noticeable under close inspection. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 0.75 carat, are approximately G-I color, predominantly VS clarity with a few SI examples. Gross weight approximately 74 dwts. Clasp is fitted with a safety closure and a safety chain, and closes securely. Width measures approximately 1¼ inches.
