The cameos depicting Hercules/Omphale and Medusa respectively, one possibly signed Michelini to reverse, the other unsigned, each set within an Etruscan revival-style border, hook fittings, French import assay marks.
The indistinct signature to the reverse of one of the Hercules/Omphale cameo possibly refers to Luigi Michelini (active c.1810-1852), a pupil of the Italian gem carver Giuseppe Girometti, who worked in Paris.
