Description

The oval carnelian carved with the head of Medusa.

Condition

Carnelian reddish brown, typical banded structure visible on reverse. Cameo carving in good condition, some minor surface scratches and areas of wear. Some gilt losses to metal frame. Measurements approximately 40 x 30mm, gross weight approximately 20.5 grams. Pin fitting with some play but closes securely. Overall in good condition.
