Designed as a bee, set with oval and cushion-shaped sapphires and circular-cut and rose diamonds, French assay marks.

Condition

Stamped with French assay mark on side of brooch and ET to the reverse and on brooch fitting. Central sapphire measuring approximately 5.9 x 4.7 x 3.4mm. Sapphires blue of medium to strong saturation, transparent, typical inclusion visible under magnification, chips, rubbed facet edges and scratches to surfaces. Diamonds bright and lively, a few ones with chips. Scratches to metal surfaces. Brooch fitting with play, however closes securely. Discolouration visible. Solder repair visible to the front on one wing, and to the reverse of body. Gross weight approximately 10 grams. Overall condition commensurate with age and wear. Accompanied by case.
