From the Carol and Stephen Ross Collection –  Proceeds to Benefit a Scholarship at California Institute of Technology (Lots 1275-1287)

Stephen Ross (1944-2017), a seminal economist and academic in the US, developed the famous arbitrage pricing theory and reshaped the field of financial economics over three decades. An art lover, he shared a passion for Chinese paintings with his wife, Carol Ross, a Latin teacher and philanthropist who have been advocating the promotion of culture and arts. The collection of paintings, amassed since the late 1980s with a considerable amount of works acquired from the L.J. Wender Fine Chinese Paintings in New York, won wide acclaim when it first appeared in the market in spring 2018.
