We are glad that you are well and you are out in the nature a little bit - We have not seen any spring!" [With]: 1 page (8 1/2 x 11 in.; 215 x 280 mm) in German, signed ("Friederike von Unruh"), and dated 8 May 1945. "My dear Mrs. Clem Cramer," Friederike von Unruh begins.  "I would like to thank you very much for your dear birthday wishes! If only a part of it was fulfilled - I would be deeply thankful. Today is a day. The sirens on the Hudson are screaming. The bells of the churches are ringing! How did we all long for this day! Now it is there. And the heart trembles again."
