Catalogue Note

Paul Klee plans an exhibition. In this letter written the year after the painter left Germany and returned to his native Switzerland, he proposes showing his paintings ("alle meine Bilder") in a large exhibition at the Bern Kunsthalle. He goes on to discuss the question of pricing the paintings for sale ("die Frage der Preisbildung"), suggesting that the larger one be sold for between CHF 1000 and 3000.  Letters by Paul Klee are scarce on the market.
