Catalogue Note
"The Magicians Nephew takes us back to the dawn of Narnian time and the day when the Beasts first talked, which was also the day when people from our world first went to Narnia." Pauline Baynes provided the illustrations for the cover and interiors of each of the seven books in The Chronicles of Narnia. She is also known for being the illustrator of choice for J. R. R. Tolkien, who declared that she had "reduced my text to a commentary on her drawings."
