Condition

Each overall in good condition consistent with age and use. The wooden surfaces throughout both chairs present with minor scuffs, surface scratches, nicks and shallow dents. The dents are concentrated mainly to the outer proper left leg of one chair. Both chairs with expected areas of wax infill, consistent on works from Chandigarh and not visually distracting. The rear proper left leg near the join of the backrest to one chair with a horizontal crack measuring approximately 11 cm to the interior and 8 cm to the exterior, exhibits slight movement and should be stabilised. The proper right outer backrest of the same chair with a tight vertical hairline crack measuring approximately 12 cm and appears stable. The front proper left leg with an area of veneer measuring approximately 1.5 x 1 cm has been professionally and sensitively replaced. The caning on the seats of both chairs with a few breaks however the material is supple and appears stable.
