Condition
Overall good condition. Some light surface scratches scattered, traces of light oxidation throughout and some handling wear to the gilding and the silevring, consistent with age and use. The pitcher presents with a light indentation on the proper right side of the handle, not visually distractive.

It was in 1880 for the Arts du Métal exhibition organized in Paris by the Union Centrale des Arts Décoratifs that Christofle exhibited for the first time pieces from its collection Polychromes. These silver and silver plated pieces are adorned with polychrome japanizing decorations.
