the curved bamboo root of tapering form and accentuated with burls and apertures, one side of the lower section dated to the dingsi year of the Jiaqing reign (1797), signed by Huang Yiguan and followed by a seal mark reading Xiaosong, the other signed by Zhu Mian followed by a Zhu seal mark, the seal face carved with an eight-character inscription, the patina of a honey-brown colour

Condition

There are expected shallow chips to the extremities, including the tip of the seal and the edges of the seal face, the largest measuring approx. 0.8 by 0.4 cm and 0.6 by 0.6 cm. The seal is otherwise in overall good condition with faint age cracks.
