Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The sheet is deckled and hinged intermittently verso to the mat. There is a soft undulation to the sheet. The variations to the pigment application are inherent and consistent with the artist's choice of medium and working method. Under close inspection, there is evidence of some stray media and minor wear and handling to the corners and edges. Only visible under very close inspection, there are a few, minor unobtrusive surface accretions. Framed under Plexiglas.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Catalogue Note

“Rather than offering his source photographs as vehicles of 'pure' meaning, Rauschenberg embedded them within complex fields of visual information where past and present, history and the contemporary moment, seem to coexist."
