Catalogue Note

Twins Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo make up the urban art duo Os Gêmeos , which is Portuguese for ‘The Twins’. Os Gêmeos’ work is inspired by graffiti and hip hop culture in their home country of Brazil. The present work exemplifies their quirky style with a colorful depiction of a boy between two window shutters. The boy’s yellow skin – a representation of positivity – is a theme in their work. Their work has been exhibited in popular public spaces, including Coney Island in New York City, as well as in galleries around the world such as Prism in Los Angeles, Berardo Museum Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art in Lisbon, and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston.
