Collection of the Artist Acquired from the above by the present owner
Nassau County Museum of Art, 'Fool the Eye,' November 2017 - March 2018
Born in Kentucky, Richard Haden is best known for his skills of precision and using the trompe l’oeil effect. He uses traditional woods, and transforms them into mass-produced objects. In Duchampian fashion, he finds debris on the side of the street, and recreates what he finds as a readymade object. The artist has been honored with numerous solo exhibitions, including the Anhault Gallery, Los Angeles, the Dorscht Gallery, Miami, and the Allan Stone Gallery, New York.
This work is in very good and sound condition overall. All elements are present and stable. There are tonal and textural shifts to the surface, inherent to the artist's intention and working method.
