Condition

This work is in excellent condition overall. The sheet is hinged verso to the backing board intermittently along the top edge. The top and bottom edges of the sheet are deckled. There is a soft undulation along both vertical edges of the sheet, causing the bottom edge to lift and slightly curl outwards, consistent with the artist's working method. Framed under Plexiglas.

Catalogue Note

''When I started working with just black and white, painting and drawing collapsed into each other and it freed me to think a lot more about how they were painted – it was a cascade of responses from one thing to the next." Carroll Dunham
