Condition

Colour: The colour in the catalogue illustration is fairly accurate although there are less blue undertones in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Extremely close inspection reveals some minute scuffs, burnishing and abrasions in isolated places throughout. Further very close inspection reveals some media accretions in isolated places, most notably to the lead joins.

Catalogue Note

"Scale is one of my last lead body case works and like Lost Subject attempts the closest possible capturing of a lived moment of time. The title refers both to ‘lifescale’ and the balanced scale formerly used to determine the weight of objects. I think of the work as an evocation of internal balance: the materialised equivalent of a balanced state." Antony Gormley, 2018
