Description
- 200cm. high, 122cm. wide, 54cm. deep, 78¾in., 48in., 21¼in.
in 17th century style and of architectural form with an arrangement of walnut lined drawers and concealed compartments, on a later stand
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. There are minor losses to moulding and the main broken pediment probably previously with metal mount. One loss of a small hardstone roundel. Generally with old marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Repairs to mouldings and losses to pewter inlay to front and to the right handside, the second which have been painted to simulate the material. Shrinking cracks to the top. The gilt-bronze figure in the upper central section is loose and needs re-attachment. The silvered metal is tarnished in some places. The stand with marks and scratches and signs of old wood worm, which no longer appears to be active.
