Catalogue Note

The letters “VO” should make reference to the stamp of BOVO, generally said to have been Léonard Beauveau, a menuisier active in 1750 working in the circle of the reknowned ébéniste Nicolas Heurtaut (B. Pallot, The Art of the Chair in 18th Century France, Paris, 1989, p. 218).
