woven with a woodland and river landscape with wading birds on the riverbank, and châteaux on the horizon beyond the river, within a four-sided floral, ribbon tied, blue acanthus and lambrequin border on a dark sable ground, with banded brown and yellow outer selvedge

Condition

Overall measurements: 320cm across the top, 323cm across the bottom, 260cm along the left side, 260cm along the right side The tapestry is lined with modern check cotton. Decorative tapestry, with some repair to large leaf plant in lower left corner. In good overall condition, commensurate with age. Decorative tapestry and attractive border, inspired by earlier tapestries.
