  • 95 x 110 cm.; 37 3/8  x 43 3/8  in.

Condition

The canvas has a firm relining, the paint surface is stable and slightly dirty, and the varnish is even but discoloured. Close inspection reveals a very faint stretcher mark running vertically down the centre. Two faint horizontal fold marks are visible in the lower quarter of the composition which run the width of the canvas. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals retouchings scattered throughout the composition, including along the aforementioned horizontal fold marks, but most notably contouring the sitters' faces. In overall fair condition.
