of architectural form, the upper section with two short and three graduated long drawers, the lower section with three graduated long drawers

Condition

Overall in reasonable conserved condition. Variation in colour to surface - front of chest faded slightly from exposure to sunlight. Movement and shrinkage cracks to the sides which are stable following restoration. Blind fret moulding to frieze with loses to right front corner. Small loss to veneer to left side of lower section, between upper and middle drawer, an generally with minor replacements and restorations to veneers and cockbeading. Some locks repositioned but apparently retaining original hardware including handles and escutcheons. Oak lining to most drawers split. A repaired split to moulding of back right bracket foot. Generally with minor old marks, scuffs, chips and loses consistent with age and use. A generously proportioned and handsome chest on chest.
