Provenance

A collection in Russia before 1926;
M. & R. Geneen, Grosvenor Galleries, London, 6 January 1926;
acquired by Major Ion Harrison from the above for £50.

In a letter from S. A. Rogers (the manager of M. & R. Geneen) to Major Harrison, dated 7 January 1926 Rogers writes that both the present lot and the next, the pair of Campana urns 'came into our possession via Russia'.

Both this pair of tazze and the following pair of Campana urns are photographed in the Drawing Room at Croft House circa 1926. Both pairs also appear in a study of the Drawing Room, Croft House by Francis Cadell (1883-1937) painted in 1934. See The Harrison Collection, these rooms, 12 June 2018, lot 112.
