Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. As stated in the catalogue, there are restorations to both stools. The walnut stool (illustration: right stool): the stretcher is replaced, there are old woodworm traces, one lower foot ball is replaced. The tapestry is associated with some wear and some restored tears (visible on the right hand side corner of the illustration with a new piece of tapestry). Trimmings are later with new nails. The oak stool (illustration: left stool): one lower rail is replaced, one rectangular angle is restored, the seatrail has been reinforced, the tapestry is later with minor wear. Both constructions are firm and sound.
