The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. There are the inevitable chips, dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. There are restorations to some places. The left hand side front foot has been broken and restored. Each seatrail has new pegs. There is a visible construction crack to the central ornaments with the granade on the bergère and on the stool. The upper part of the backrest rail is broken and needs to be restored. The stool and the armchair were previously lacquered or gilt. The construction is firm. There are old restorations to the upper part of the backrest which are broken and needs to be restored again. The silk is in good overall condition with the usual wears to the upper part of the backrest. Beautiful carving, with granade, shells, foliates, as expected with a production by Cresson.
