Description

  • 19.2 cm, 7 1/2  in.
the L-shaped blade with bevelled edges and pierced with three rectangular apertures, the handle incised with a swirling motif to each side and similarly pierced with an aperture, the bronze patinated to a pale greyish-green colour with a smooth surface

Provenance

Collected in Xi'an prior to 1942, by repute.
Collection of Emil Hultmark (1872-1943), and thence by descent in the family.

Condition

There are old chips to the edge of the blade and ‎tang, consistent with age and as visible on the photo. However there do not appear to be any substantial fresh damage or restoration since the time of its acquisition in the 1930s.
