Description

  • 33.5 cm, 13 1/4  in.
painted with sprays of peony and prunus among jagged rocks, the cover similarly decorated with a lotus bud finial

Condition

The jar and cover are in overall good condition. There are typical firing imperfections, including firing cracks on jar’s interior and fritting to the rim, with an associated approx. 4.6 cm glaze flake. There are expected shallow chips to the esges of the cover, with a small section polished. The centre of the cover’s interior appears to have been stabilised. Other general surface wear and rubbing/losses to the enamels.
