Description

  • 18 and 19 cm, 7 1/8  and 7 1/2  in.
each of slender form rising from a spreading hollow base to a trumpet mouth, the larger vessel cast with two vertical ribs along the bulge and three raised horizontal bands, fabric stands

Provenance

Collection of J. Javrotsky, a customs official in Beijing, in 1920s-1930s, and thence by family descent.
Bonhams San Francisco, 10th March 2015, lot 8241.

Condition

Both vessels with losses, burial patina and corrosion. Details on the smaller vessel are now covered with extensive layers of patina and corrosion. The large vessel with two opposing apertures in the foot.
