Description

  • 28.6 and 28.1 cm, 11 1/4  and 11 in.
the first with a ruyi-shaped headrest incised with peony sprays, covered overall in an ivory-tinged glaze; the other of octagonal section, decorated with foliated scrolls

Condition

The white pillow has two restored rim chips (approx. 3 and 4.5 cm) with associated hairlines (approx. 6.5 and 3 cm, possibly due to firing). There are also original flaws including an area of firing cracks. The brown pillow has a few old chips along the base edge, otherwise is in overall good condition.
