Description

  • 32.2 cm, 12 5/8  in.
the deep rounded sides supported on a flat base, the interior painted with a ferocious dragon and three leaping carps emerging from cresting waves, the base left in the biscuit and inscribed with a six-character reign mark within a double circle

Collection of T.Y. Chao (1912-1999).

Condition

The mouth rim has been ground down with possibly associated surface scratches on the exterior. There are tiny flakes to the rim, with two short associated hairline cracks, at around the 7 and 8 o’clock positions, the latter Y-shaped. Other expected light surface wear and flakes to the base.
