Description

  • 17.6 cm, 6 7/8  in.
the deep rounded sides supported on a splayed hollow stem, the exterior incised with lotus blooms, each bloom supporting one of the beribboned bajixiang, the stem with sprays of lotus, the interior of the stem inscribed with a horizontal reign mark

Provenance

Collection of T.Y. Chao (1912-1999), and thence by descent in the family.

Condition

There is a shallow approx. 0.7 cm chip to the foot and light wear to the interior. The rim has possibly been lightly polished, likely to be original to the piece. Otherwise in overall good condition with expected minor firing imperfections.
